Islamic Azad University of Ahvaz Branch is one of the first five branches of the Islamic Azad University in the country and the first university unit of Khuzestan province, which was established on January 1, 1982 and began its educational activities in 1983 by accepting students in the field of mathematics. In February 1984 by admitting students in two fields of civil engineering and agriculture (agriculture and plant breeding), it continued its activities. Islamic Azad University of Ahvaz Branch has achieved remarkable achievements in various scientific, research and cultural fields during its activity. Among these achievements are the opening of the technology incubator and obtaining approval from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, obtaining the approval of the Central Laboratory from the General Administration of Standards of Khuzestan Province, definite membership of central laboratories and nanomaterials in the Presidential Strategic Technologies Laboratory Network , Continuous activity of 4 licensed research centers and more than 10 independent research units since 2011, Establishment of Energy Innovation Center (oil, gas and petrochemical), publication of 5 international and scientific research journals and 5 specialized scientific journals, publication of more than 15,424 scientific papers in prestigious international and scientific research journals and national and international conferences by faculty members of Ahvaz branch, winning the title of top national and provincial researcher by faculty members in different years, publishing more than 100 academic books , Noted the conclusion of more than 40 memorandum of cooperation with organizations and companies and the registration of several domestic patents. At present, the Islamic Azad University of Ahvaz is proud to have a complex with an area of 550,000 square meters and about 11,828 square meters of educational space and laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art devices and equipment in order to educate the future creators of this territory. Also, this university, with over 17,000 students in 220 fields of study at different levels of education, is serving the country.
