The Islamic Azad University of Shahr-e-Qods Branch started its activity in 2010 in a rented building by creating 12 academic fields for bachelor's degrees and attracting 600 students.

Then the university moved to an area of 8 hectares and started with the Department of Humanities and Department of Agriculture.

Currently, the Shahr-e-Qods University includes 75 academic fields and contains the Department of Agriculture, Department of Humanities, Department of Engineering, Department of Basic Sciences, Department of Arts, Department of Skills, and Department of Medicine.

This complex contains 19 thousand students in associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees.

Since 2016, the Islamic Azad University of Mallard and the Islamic Azad University of Safadasht have been under the collection of ُThis University.
