Introduction
Islamic Azad University of Sabzevar was established on March 1st, 1363 in the second largest city of Razavi Khorasan province as the first university in this city and the second university in North, Razavi and South Khorasan provinces. With a population of over five hundred thousand people, Sabzevar is located in a rich agricultural region with historical and long-standing villages. Trade and industries are two main undertakings in this city although a large number of factories have also been built in the country.
The establishment of the Islamic Azad University was basically an effort to continue the culture and knowledge of this long-standing and esteemed region. This turned into an opportunity for both native or non-native students from the neighboring cities and far away and finally leading to the sustainable growth and expansion of the university. Currently, more than five thousand students are studying in three building complexes in this university. The large complex of the university was built on a land of 28 hectares, and the pursuit of the license of 100 hectares of land in the city for the construction of educational and workshop projects, as well as agricultural and research fields.
