Islamic Azad University of Bonab Branch started its educational activities in 1987 with three disciplines. For the time being, the university has 115 faculty members and 129 disciplines in doctoral, master, bachelor and associate degrees – It has three Educational buildings - three buildings equipped dormitory – one building of sports complex with equipped halls for futsal, volleyball, table tennis, bodybuilding, wrestling, etc. - Three laboratory blocks and workshops with 29 workshops and laboratories with modern experimental equipment and is a research and library with 56,000 books and many educational, research, welfare and cultural facilities. So far, this university unit has held

4 scientific conferences at the national level and has a center for the growth of technology units, a steel innovation house (smelting and rolling), a central laboratory for concrete and construction materials, a central laboratory for molecular and microbial genetics and it has a scientific journal of jurisprudence and principles of Islamic law.
