The Islamic Azad University of Zahedan Branch started its academics and scientific activity with a capacity of 90 students in the field of civil engineering, mathematics, and agricultural machinery in a small rented building on December 12, 1982. Its increasing development showed how much this border region required such action. This effective step helped a lot in the development and promotion of socio-cultural and political aspects in the southeast of the country.

This university branch with a comprehensive degree of one star, 7861 students, 6 faculties, and 122 fields of study in associate, bachelor, master, medicine (professional doctorate), and specialized doctorate is at the service of young people and volunteers eager to seek education in the province.

The Islamic Azad University of Zahedan is the provincial head Branch, and the head of this university, as the secretary of the board of trustees, is responsible for managing other units and centers throughout the Sistan and Baluchistan province.

According to paragraph 2 of Article 1, Resolution of, the Supreme Council of the Culture number721 dated 2/8/91, the head of the largest unit in the center of the province is the secretary of the board of trustees and the president of the Islamic Azad University of the province. In addition to this responsibility, the management of the secretariat of the provincial board of trustees, and the coordinating duties of provincial units and provincial councils are in accordance with the organizational chart attached to this circular. Accordingly, the head of the largest university unit in the center of the province has provincial responsibilities in three areas:

A: The overall performance of the university unit throughout the province

B: Overall Performance of the secretary of the provincial board of trustees

C: Overall performance of the coordination tasks in the province
