Guilan.Roudbar has a strong cultural background in Guilan province. Sepidrood is located in this city and is an important center of energy production including wind and power lants also the freeway of North passes through this city.

Islamic Azad University of Roudbar Branch was established in 1379 as a university enter under supervision of Rasht university. It is officially started its work in1380.The first major was accounting with 23 students.

In 1385,Roudbar center turned into unit. This university now has 1000 students in various fields from associate to master.

Although this city was almost destroyed in the 1369 earthquake , Roudbar Azad University played an important role in the growth and development of the city due to its geographical and natural conditions.

The mission of the Islamic Azad University of Roudbar Branch is to confirm and strengthen the Azad university in general and to serve the region and society of Islamic Iran.
