Islamic Azad University of Sowmehsara Branch started its activities in 2007 with 3 associate degrees and 235 students under the supervision of Rasht Branch in Shahid Allameh Tabatabai School.With the efforts and sympathy of the staff, as well as the assistance of city officials and the esteemed representative of the city, basic measures were taken to develop the unit, so that a land with an area of 40,207 square meters was purchased in Ayatollah Ehsanbakhsh Square in Tulamshahr. On 2011/10/6, the upgrade of the complex to a university unit caused the unit to become independent from the parent unit.Of the year 2015, Efforts to purchase a real estate building began, due to the diligent pursuit of the unit's officials since The new collection was given to the unit. All laboratories and workshops in the new complex have been established in order to reduce costs and eliminate the dependence of this unit. The number of master students in the two fields of electricity and accounting is over 100 people. Also, the monastery unit is currently operating with about 650 active students.
