Islamic Azad University, Shiraz branch, was established in the spring of 1987 with 8 BSc programms in the Department of Humanities and only one faculty member. After three years, it continued its work by developing the facilities and attracting full-time faculty members and establishing laboratories and educational groups such as basic sciences, humanities, engineering, agriculture, art and architecture, and dentistry. Also, since 1991, master's degree courses have been added to the total number of study courses. This branch is currently ranked 3229 based on the webometric world university ranking and ranked 27th among Islamic Azad universities according to the ISC ranking. Currently, Islamic Azad University of Shiraz Branch consists of 220 fields of study in Bsc-continuous (66), Bsc-part-time (20), Msc and MA (99), PhD (33) and also Doctor of Dentistry.
